Opponent

The Series
This will be the third meeting between the two schools. William & Mary won the previous two meetings, one at Stony Brook and one in Williamsburg. The Tribe defeated the Seawolves 27-21 in overtime back in 2014 in the only other meeting in LaValle Stadium.

Captains
Stony Brook’s captains for the 2016 season are graduate WR Tim Keith, senior DB Jaheem Woods, senior DL Aaron Thompson, junior DB Tyrice Beverette and junior RB Stacey Bedell. Saturday’s honorary captain is Brock Jackolski, an All-America kick returners/running back for the Seawolves from 2010-11.

Last Time Out
Stony Brook fell from the ranks of the unbeatens in CAA Football play on Saturday afternoon with a 43-14 loss at New Hampshire at Wildcat Stadium. QB Joe Carbone threw for 165 yards and a pair of touchdowns, but the Wildcats were able to take advantage of five Stony Brook turnovers. WR Steve Marino and WR Tim Keith each pulled in touchdowns in the loss.

Family Affair
Stony Brook RBs Stacey Bedell and Jordan Gowins share more than just the carries out of the backfield, the two are first cousins. Bedell, a junior from Mastic Beach, N.Y., and Gowins, a sophomore transfer from Bellport, N.Y., have family blood running through their veins. So far in 2016, the duo has combined to carry the ball 230 times for 995 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Climbing The Charts
RB Stacey Bedell enters the William & Mary game ranked among the top 10 in several of Stony Brook’s career rushing records. The junior sits second in career 100-yard games (12), third in career touchdowns (23), sixth in career carries (379) and seventh in career rushing yards (2041).
