Last Time Out: Hartford/UMass Lowell
The Seawolves closed out America East play with a pair of four-set victories over Hartford and UMass Lowell Nov. 11 and 13 at Pritchard Gymnasium.

Scouting the Blackbirds
LIU Brooklyn won the NEC title Sunday by ousting No. 1 seed Sacred Heart in five sets in Fairfield, Connecticut. The Blackbirds trailed 2-1 in the match before winning the fourth set 27-25 and the fifth 19-17 for their 10th NEC championship.

Alex Larsen leads the Blackbirds with 3.00 kills/set, while Natalia Rivera has posted a team-high 5.16 digs/set. The Blackbirds have been held to a .182 team hitting percentage in 2016.

The Last Time We Met: LIU Brooklyn
Stony Brook dropped a four-set decision to LIU Brooklyn Sept. 25, 2012. Melissa Rigo and Evann Slaughter each had 16 kills, while Greta Strenger tallied seven kills and 19 digs.

I Believe Ky Can Fly
Sophomore McKyla Brooks leads the America East in hitting percentage in 2016 at .314. Brooks was a first-team all-conference selection in 2016 after earning all-rookie honors as a freshman in 2015.

Poole Report
Freshman Maria Poole was tabbed as an America East all-rookie team selection at Thursday evening’s conference banquet. Poole joins McKyla Brooks and Cydney Bowman as Seawolves with an all-rookie selection on their resumes.

Hello, Costello
Redshirt-sophomore Emily Costello had a pair of stellar performances in the final weekend of America East play. Costello hit .384 with 4.00 kills/set and 2.12 digs/set, which included a career-best 23-kill effort Nov. 13 vs. UMass Lowell.

Bark Twice If You’re From Milwaukee
Sophomore Morgan Kath became the eighth Seawolves setter to eclipse 1,500 career assists Nov. 11 vs. Hartford. Kath’s 9.43 career assists/set rank fourth among all Seawolves who played at least 100 sets.

Sakowicz Sparking Seawolves
LeAnne Sakowicz has found numerous ways to contribute for Stony Brook in her freshman campaign. Sakowicz has performances of 10 kills, 47 assists, 18 digs and five aces, all in separate matches.

New York State of Mind
The Seawolves have defeated nine New York State opponents since Coach Pawlikowski took over in 2013 (Albany, Binghamton, Buffalo, Columbia, Fordham, Iona, Manhattan, St. Francis Brooklyn, Syracuse).

Serrano Named to Stony Brook Hall of Fame
Seawolves alum Jessica Serrano-Plugues ’00, the program’s all-time leader in kills with 2,205, was inducted into the Stony Brook Athletics Rita and Kurt Eppenstein Hall of Fame Oct. 14.
